We have been advising clients in the area of Municipal Law for over 100 years. The Firm is presently counsel to many municipalities located outside of The City of Winnipeg and also assists property owners, ratepayers and land developers in land related issues with municipalities.

Lawyers in this area are active in assisting municipalities in various matters, such as those relating to municipal elections, municipal officials and conflict of interest, the exercise of municipal powers, zoning and building construction, municipal taxation, drafting of municipal bylaws and resolutions, expropriations, trade and business regulation, incorporation and boundaries, and actions by and against municipal corporations.

Members of the group are also very active in representing municipal corporations and taxpayers with respect to realty and business taxation matters. Also, lawyers in our group represent a number of public and private school divisions in matters relating to land use and administrative governance.
